POKOTABI / Toraji
焼肉トラジ 日比谷店
Located on the 2th basement floor of the Toho Hibiya Promenade Building, Toraji offers diverse tasting platters of tongue and skirt steak, signature negi condiments, and relaxed private-room lunch sets.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
When you want to take your time exploring different cuts over the grill, the menu at Toraji in Hibiya sets out a clear path. A natural place to begin is the 4-cut beef tongue platter, which brings together prime tongue, tongue sinew, offcuts, and thinly sliced grilled shabu-style tongue, each offering a distinct bite. Paired with garlic negi-baka or the salt-grill-oriented white negi-baka, the savory richness and seasoning of the tongue come through cleanly.
Selections of kalbi and skirt steak are equally varied. Beyond the thick diamond-cut options for a substantial bite, diners can order tasting plates such as center-cut sagari alongside standard skirt, or even combinations including pork skirt steak. For fattier cuts like nakaochi spare ribs, rich sweet-savory tare marinades, or offal glazed in black miso, the spicy red negi-baka provides a punchy counterpoint that keeps the palate fresh. Drinks engineered to balance the richness, from Toraji's craft cola brewed with over a dozen spices to bright citrus lemonades, offer steady support at the table.
At lunchtime, the Yakiniku Gozen brings nakaochi kalbi, lean loin, pork jowl, and aged marinated Wagyu together in a structured set alongside small side dishes, kimchi, and namul. The complimentary ice pop served at the end leaves the palate refreshed—a signature finish that lingers in the memory.
Well-appointed private rooms ensure a relaxed setting, whether dropping by before or after a theater show or settling in for an unhurried conversation over a meal.
